Seafront
accommodation at Island Coastal Units is set amidst tall shady trees,
only metres away from the picturesque waters of American River, a peaceful
fishing destination. Adjacent is Pelican Lagoon, a sanctuary for fish
and bird-life.
Nearby
are beautiful scenic walking trails. Tammar Wallabies, Possums, Echidnas
and a wide variety of local bird-life including the rare Glossy Black
Cockatoo (found only on Kangaroo Island) can be seen.
Fishermen
are well catered for, with space for boat parking, and a freezer for the
catch. A fish-cleaning table is located at the water’s edge where pelicans
and other aquatic birds abound. Only a 2 minute walk from the boat ramp,
wharf and jetty, where you can throw in a line and catch your evening
meal.
