About us
Island Coastal Units on
Kangaroo Island opened in late 2003.
Originally, the site was
location for the local school at American River, complete with bomb
shelter! A house was later constructed on the site. From 1993 professional
fisherman Dave used this as his base. The location was idyllic, with large
shady trees surrounding the house and wide views to the sea. The close
proximity to the wharf and boat ramp was a fisherman’s dream. The
sheltered waters offered fishing on most days with catches of King George
Whiting, Garfish, Squid and many other varieties.
Dave and Jeannie enjoy the
peaceful, community friendly lifestyle of Kangaroo Island and American
River, with central access to the beautiful beaches and countryside that
makes Kangaroo Island a unique and unspoilt adventure paradise.
With a wealth of 30 years
professional fishing expertise, Dave is happy to share his tips with
guests. If you are looking for a holiday that offers relaxation, bush
walks, bird watching and wildlife experiences, then American River on
Kangaroo Island will suit you.
